Spring Showcase

Spring is in the air and the weather is starting to become decent to start showcasing my wares. I have been busy sorting out my stock in the studio and making a few new pieces and planning ideas through the year that I will be bringing out. I decided to venture out for my first show of the new year and take part in the Makers Market in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire perfect for Mother’s Day gift purchases. I found the day to be pleasant and the people were supportive throughout the day along with the artisans. I managed to showcase some new wares and it is always good to get peoples feedback. As I produce a range of items from illustrated ceramics to printed apparel, I am going back to the drawing board on certain ranges and designs so that all my designs will begin to be available in both ranges. I will also this year be working on my website so you will be able to purchase items from here but in the meantime you can email me or visit my etsy shop. I look forward to getting out from behind the desk for the rest of the year and meeting more lovely customers.

Kicking off 2019

Hi Guys, Sorry for the lack of blog talk but I am back and ready to get my website moving in the right direction. As you know I am an illustrator and designer who loves being creative whatever the weather. I had a quiet year previously with only a few shows which I took part in showcasing my wares in the midlands. However this year I am trying to plan ahead and look at some new markets to showcase nearer to home so I can start to build up a nice following.

What is to come in the year a head for my work I hear you say. Well I will continue to illustrate on to ceramics but concentrate on certain ranges which will bring together a range of wares and I have a few things in the pipeline (hush hush at the moment) I will also continue to screen print and expand my range for baby/children’s wears as well as bringing something for the grown ups and expand on my tote bag range.  I will be working on lots more apparel and feature more of my illustrations and love for typography. And finally I have been doing quite a few portrait commissions so I will be showcasing more of my recent work in my gallery very soon. Keep following me and my journey as well as art markets I will be attending.

Busy Bee

I have been busy over the last few months on different projects as well as preparing for a show. My projects have included a commissioned brief for Bangers and Cash Homeless Charity which involved designing an image on to a car bonnet which I submitted, screen printing wares for my stall at Birmingham Seasonal Markets in Digbeth and being commissioned for lots of pet portraits. A variety of mediums involved to keep me busy as well as setting up my studio. I may have been a little quiet of late but I am working on more of my work and website so look out for what I am up to and the work I will be adding to my portfolio.

In the meantime if you would like to commission me for a potential portrait artwork then get in touch. I love to bring your furry loved ones to life on to canvas having a lasting keepsake.

Spring has arrived

We finally have some sunshine for Spring and its been a long time coming. The weather can have a huge affect on your mood and motivation but pushing forward we had Mothers Day and Easter to look forward to. Having a few ideas in mind, I got back to illustrating on to ceramics and updated my etsy shop. There is nothing better than getting creative and making especially knowing it is all handmade adds to the charm.

I have been making use of my sketch books and filling them with ideas. The good thing about my illustrations is there is a charm about each piece I create and they work well together.  Sometimes I will sketch an idea down and test colours, other times I go straight into making without a seconds thought and sometimes I can be pleasantly surprised. I will draw out my design using a pencil on to the clay once its been fired and then apply the colourful paints not knowing what they will look like until they have been glazed and fired. This is where the magic will happen and all will be revealed to myself and my followers.  I will be sharing the process of my wares shortly but in the meantime you can see more on my etsy shop.

Hello there

Hello and Welcome to my brand new website and blog. As you may know I’m a graphic designer and illustrator specialising in a range of products. Since I was a little girl I’ve wanted to be a designer and loved drawing in my art lessons knowing I could get lost in myself. I never gave up on my dream, making, creating and sharing my work with friends and family. When I studied more into specialised areas I knew I was a step closer.

Once I got my first job I could put my skills to practise but I wanted to do more, I could visualise my own business and would often read about inspirational stories. I knew I could be more than an employee, I could be my own boss and have my own business.

After many business courses and always being independent, I started planning my business. It’s taken a long time in between projects and careers but I’m now here and ready to share my experiences, adventures and of course my work #girlboss
